Just wondering if you\'ve had some DNA testing done. Finding out if you\'re XX or XY should solve your identity question on a basic level. Sorry if you've been asked this question before.
Such a test has been performed on my blood last year, yes. Its result was '46 XY'. This doesn't say anything about whether I'm a chimera or not, of course, a test which they refuse to carry out here in the Netherlands.
I wonder why they would refuse to test for something like that. What did they say about the result of the test? Finding out that you\'re 46XY should give them some clues as to how you got to where you are today, and of course give you a better understanding of your options. Cases like yours, while uncommon, are not unheard of after all.
I don't know... perhaps it's because a full-scale chimera test might be a tad invasive (I'm not sure exactly...). Very little attention has been given to this by doctors so far.
Perhaps I should find a private clinic where they might do such a test :(
Just how big a tissue sample will they need? Still, as chimerism is supposed to be extremely rare, it might be better to go with the averages and assume, having tested out as 46XY, that you are male.
At this point it would be good to remember that the outward physical characteristics are not the only things that determine your sex. I was male before puberty, am male now, and will continue to be male after my testosterone production drops when I get old.
You don't need to be a champion boxer to prove your masculinity. There's a world of things for men to do that do not involve the physical aspect. If you are not inclined towards those things, it does not mean that you are female.
The question "Who am I?" is basic to us all. If you go against the evidence, you'll just keep swimming in the pool of misery which you've been in all this time. Just to show you that your case is not unique, I quote Matthew 19:12, where you may read that cases like yours were known even then. Some of those people found joy, as related in Acts 8:34-39.
Perhaps you do not believe in the Bible, or you may find Christianity laughable. Yet, in the face of the trials of this life, and the question of the life to come, I've found no better answers than those that are contained in these two. It would be worth your time to try them, I think.
I hope you do not take offense, but I must point out what I believe is the correct course. It would be interesting to hear all the arguments that were put to you by the psychologists you mention in your short autobiography.
The bible continues to amaze me the more I know about it. The problem is it is so confusing, and the supposed authorities of it are usually arrogant and are very judgemental.
